THE VALLEY HOUSE
A great place to stay in Sierraville, California. The Valley House is a new vacation rental located at the gateway to the great Sierra Valley, a huge Alpine Valley surrounded by beautiful mountains. You will love the hiking, biking, skiing, boating, birdwatching in this pristine wilderness with dozens of mountain lakes to explore. We are a 30-minute drive to Truckee, and less than an hour to the shores of Lake Tahoe, but once you get a taste of this beautiful and unknown part of the Sierras, you won't want to go anywhere else! From our location, you can practically roll out of bed at The Valley House and land in one of the many tasty local eateries. And we are just a few minutes from the gorgeous and relaxing Sierra Hot Springs.

The property is owned by Sierraville residents Brendan and Megan. Converted from a roadside motel, it was fully remodeled in 2017, and the building now contains two studios, each with full kitchen, shower, living room, outdoor deck, and very comfortable beds. The perfect place for a nice vacation or a weekend getaway. We look forward to having you!
As of 2023 the Valley House is a Zero Net Energy building. Which means, by using only electricity and with a solar photovoltaic system, we create all the energy we use.

Both units have a full kitchen, a very comfortable queen bed in a private bedroom and a queen pull-out sofa in the living room, sleeping up to four people. Each has a bathroom with shower. Unit 1 is ADA compatible. Both units allow 1-2 well mannered dogs with plenty of space on the property for a nice little walk (1.5 acres). We have great Wifi if you need to get some work done between adventures and/or a nap.

Really just so much to do! Summer, Fall, Winter, & Spring you will find yourself in a pristine and unique Sierra setting. The Sierra Buttes/ Lakes Basin Wilderness in one direction; Independence Lake/Jackson Meadows/ Sagehen to the south; Plumas County/Graeagle/Johnsville to the north; and Frenchman's Reservoir/Nevada Desert to the east. Life is too short to see and do it all, but you'll have a great time trying. Hiking, Biking, Fishing, Skiing, Birdwatching, Boating, Swimming, Hot Springing and the list goes on.
